Aerospace Structural Metals Database

The ASMD web-based database allows the user to instantly see the properties and relationships for over 220 metal alloys with over 80,000 different property combinations. This user-friendly interface enables ASMD subscribers to quickly select and compare the attributes of the alloys they are looking for.

Built into the database is the Commercial and Alternated Designations spreadsheet with corresponding materials and a searchable PDF handbook. The searchable PDF of the Aerospace Structural Metals Handbook includes additional hundreds of pages of searchable information relative to the Alloy Groups in the database.

The PDF also includes:
Abbreviations
Cross Index
Fracture Properties
Si Conversion Factors and Tables

Aerospace Structural Metals Database (ASMD) was fully developed by The Center for Information and Numerical Data Analysis and Synthesis (CINDAS) The database was completed and released under a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the United States Air Force Materials Directorate at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.

The basis for this web-based, searchable database is the widely used and highly respected Aerospace Structural Metals Handbook (ASMH).

Finding Information

Search: Enter the full or partial name of the property or material.
Browse: Use the drop-down menu to find the property or material.

The Aerospace Structural Metals Database contains 220 metals alloys in 20 metal groups and 540 properties in 20 property groups.

Viewing Information

ASMD allows the user to view a property of multiple materials on one graph.
Step 1: Select Materials
Step 2: Select Data Curves or Test Conditions
The user can click on the “Show Text” button to see the test description, data points, references, and more.

Results: Graphic and Numeric

The user can display multiple color-coded data curves on one graph for a selected substances.
A grid appears as well. The ranges of x and y variables on the graph can be changed for the data curves.
